How to remove TotalRecipeSearch


TotalRecipeSearch (by Mindspark) is a browser extension that you have most probably installed while searching for a specific recipe on the internet or by installing some free software. As a result of that, you end up with the changed homepage and new tab of your browser or maybe even with changed default search engine.

Why remove TotalRecipeSearch

TotalRecipeSearch makes changes to your browser in order to redirect your web searches from your current provider (Google, Yahoo, Bing, …) to either or These redirects are done for monetization purposes.

Some insecure sponsored results are also returned when using TotalRecipeSearch. Some links might even be malicious, which could lead to a much more serious malware infection.

We strongly recommend you to remove this software as soon as possible!

How to remove

Removal from Google Chrome

  1. Start Google Chrome.
  2. Right-click the TotalRecipeSearch icon (top right corner of the window) and select “Remove

  3. Confirm removal.

In case the icon is not visible please follow these steps:

  1. Start Google Chrome.
  2. In the address bar type “chrome://extensions/”
  3. In the list of add-ons find TotalRecipeSearch Toolbar and click recycle bin icon.
  4. Confirm removal.

Removal from Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox
  2. In the address bar type “about:addons
  3. Click Extensions tab.
  4. In the list of extension locate TotalRecipeSearch Toolbar.
  5. Click Remove button near it.
